Join Brooksie Edwards for Kundalini Yoga at this time when we’re not offering Kriya. No pre-registration required.

Kriya Yoga is a practice of breath, awareness, movement, sound, and meditation designed to shift energy and support deeper presence. Many people are drawn to these practices because they are looking to explore the dimensions of yoga— practices that cultivate inner awareness, vitality, emotional openness, and connection to something deeper within themselves.

While movement is part of the experience, the emphasis is less on alignment or physical intensity and more on inner experience: how you breathe, feel, notice, and relate to yourself as you practice.

Our approach is informed largely by the teachings of the Sattva Yoga tradition — a modern integration of tantric and Himalayan yogic practices adapted for contemporary life.

At the heart of the practice are kriyas: intentional combinations of breathwork, movement, sound, meditation, and focused awareness that create different energetic, emotional, and mental states. Some moments are quiet and grounding. Others are energizing, emotional, or expansive. Each practice is shaped around a particular intention and unfolds as an immersive inner journey.

You can expect a blend of simple movement, breath practices, mantra, yoga philosophy, meditation, rest, and stillness woven together in different ways depending on the focus of the class. We offer instruction on making the physical movements accessible and adaptable, with space to honor your own pace and experience.

People often leave feeling clearer, steadier, softer, more open, and more connected to themselves.

Open to all levels. No previous experience is necessary.

Morning Stretch at Pittsboro Yoga

Wednesdays 7:30 – 8:30am

Ease into your day with a gentle, breath-led flow. Morning Stretch is a relaxed-paced class that blends simple Vinyasa sequences with mindful stretching to awaken the body and release overnight stiffness. Movements are slow and intentional, with an emphasis on linking breath to movement at a comfortable, unhurried pace.

Expect a nice long warm up sequence followed by flowing postures, low-impact transitions, and longer pauses to stretch and open the hips, spine, shoulders, and legs. This class builds warmth without intensity, helping to improve mobility, increase circulation, and create a sense of calm, steady energy for the day ahead.

Suitable for all levels, this practice offers a balanced start to your morning, leaving you feeling refreshed, grounded, and gently energized.

Slow Flow at Pittsboro Yoga

Wednesdays 5:00 – 6:15pm

Slow Flow is a steady, breath-centered vinyasa practice that moves at a mindful, unhurried pace. This class emphasizes intentional transitions and longer holds, giving you time to explore alignment, build strength, and deepen awareness in each posture.

You’ll link breath with movement through accessible sequences that balance effort and ease, creating space to cultivate focus without feeling rushed. Modifications and props are always offered, making this class welcoming for both newer students and experienced practitioners looking to slow down.

Monthly Men’s Group at Pittsboro Yoga

Second Wednesday of Each Month 6:30 – 8:30pm

We gather because something in us knows that doing this alone isn’t the way.

Healthy masculinity doesn’t arrive fully formed—it’s shaped over time, in conversation, in honest reflection, and in the presence of other men willing to show up. This group is a space for that kind of work. A place where you can speak what’s true for you, listen to others doing the same, and find yourself a little less isolated in the process.

While we have a theme each month, there’s no agenda to fix or solve. Sometimes what’s needed is simpler, and harder—to be heard without interruption, to listen without needing to respond, to sit with what’s real. Many of us were taught to push emotion aside or to muscle through. This is a space to relate to that pattern differently, at your own pace.

Pre-registration is encouraged. Sliding scale donations are appreciated. I volunteer my time, and a significant portion of what’s collected is donated to a local charity. In past years, we have supported Second Bloom and the CORA Food Pantry.

Kriya at Home: Building a Sustainable Practice

Saturday, July 11, 1 – 3pm at Pittsboro Yoga
$60

Kriya Yoga weaves together movement, breath, mantra, and focused attention to shift our state and reshape how we relate to our lives. In a guided journey, the effects can be immediate and powerful. But lasting transformation is built through steady, consistent practice.

This two-hour workshop is designed to help you experience Kriya and bring the practice into daily life with confidence and ease.

Bill will guide a 30-minute sequence of kriyas chosen to regulate the nervous system, calm the body, steady the breath, and cultivate equanimity of mind. After the immersive experience, he will break the set down step-by-step — explaining how to practice safely and effectively, what each element is doing physiologically and energetically, and how to build a sustainable home routine.

You will leave with:

  • A clear, repeatable kriya sequence

  • Detailed written instructions

  • A specially curated Spotify playlist

  • Practical guidance for creating consistency

  • Tools to access calm and steadiness in daily life

Ideal for those curious about Kriya for the first time, as well as students with some experience in Kriya, yoga, breathwork, or mindfulness who want to deepen and integrate the practices.

Awakening Flow at Pittsboro Yoga

Tuesdays 9 – 10:15am

This morning practice weaves together breath, movement, and mindful awareness to gently wake the body and settle the mind. We begin with seated breathwork to center attention and build energy, followed by unhurried, breath-led flow that warms and grounds. The practice gradually opens into deeper stretches to release tension and support nervous system ease.

Expect a class that feels both uplifting and steady—calm, soulful, and quietly strengthening. The pace is meditative and accessible, inviting you to arrive fully in your body and begin the day with clarity and presence. All levels and all bodies are welcome. Options are offered throughout.
