October 11: Tuning into Abundance Consciousness
On October 11, our Kriya practice will draw on the energy of Lakshmi—the yogic embodiment of abundance, beauty, generosity, and grace. Through breath, movement, mantra, and meditation, we’ll invite in the energy of abundance—tuning into a vibrational state of openness and flow, generosity and receptivity, possibility and appreciation.

About our Kriya Yoga Practices

Kriya Yoga is a practice of breath, awareness, movement, sound, and meditation designed to shift energy and support deeper presence. Many people are drawn to these practices because they are looking to explore the dimensions of yoga— practices that cultivate inner awareness, vitality, emotional openness, and connection to something deeper within themselves.

While movement is part of the experience, the emphasis is less on alignment or physical intensity and more on inner experience: how you breathe, feel, notice, and relate to yourself as you practice.

Our approach is informed largely by the teachings of the Sattva Yoga tradition — a modern integration of tantric and Himalayan yogic practices adapted for contemporary life.

At the heart of the practice are kriyas: intentional combinations of breathwork, movement, sound, meditation, and focused awareness that create different energetic, emotional, and mental states. Some moments are quiet and grounding. Others are energizing, emotional, or expansive. Each practice is shaped around a particular intention and unfolds as an immersive inner journey.

You can expect a blend of simple movement, breath practices, mantra, yoga philosophy, meditation, rest, and stillness woven together in different ways depending on the focus of the class. We offer instruction on making the physical movements accessible and adaptable, with space to honor your own pace and experience.

People often leave feeling clearer, steadier, softer, more open, and more connected to themselves.

Open to all levels. No previous experience is necessary. Join Brooksie Edwards for Kundalini Yoga at this time when we’re not offering Kriya. No pre-registration required.

Morning Stretch

Wednesdays 7:30 – 8:30am @ Pittsboro Yoga

Ease into your day with a gentle, breath-led flow. Morning Stretch is a relaxed-paced class that blends simple Vinyasa sequences with mindful stretching to awaken the body and release overnight stiffness. Movements are slow and intentional, with an emphasis on linking breath to movement at a comfortable, unhurried pace.

Expect a nice long warm up sequence followed by flowing postures, low-impact transitions, and longer pauses to stretch and open the hips, spine, shoulders, and legs. This class builds warmth without intensity, helping to improve mobility, increase circulation, and create a sense of calm, steady energy for the day ahead.

Suitable for all levels, this practice offers a balanced start to your morning, leaving you feeling refreshed, grounded, and gently energized.

Slow Flow Yoga

Wednesdays, 5:00 – 6:15pm @ Pittsboro Yoga

Slow Flow is a steady, breath-centered vinyasa practice that moves at a mindful, unhurried pace. This class emphasizes intentional transitions and longer holds, giving you time to explore alignment, build strength, and deepen awareness in each posture.

You’ll link breath with movement through accessible sequences that balance effort and ease, creating space to cultivate focus without feeling rushed. Modifications and props are always offered, making this class welcoming for both newer students and experienced practitioners looking to slow down.

Monthly Men’s Group at Pittsboro Yoga

Second Wednesday of Each Month 6:30 – 8:30pm

We gather because something in us knows that doing this alone isn’t the way.

Healthy masculinity doesn’t arrive fully formed—it’s shaped over time, in conversation, in honest reflection, and in the presence of other men willing to show up. This group is a space for that kind of work. A place where you can speak what’s true for you, listen to others doing the same, and find yourself a little less isolated in the process.

While we have a theme each month, there’s no agenda to fix or solve. Sometimes what’s needed is simpler, and harder—to be heard without interruption, to listen without needing to respond, to sit with what’s real. Many of us were taught to push emotion aside or to muscle through. This is a space to relate to that pattern differently, at your own pace.

Pre-registration is encouraged. Sliding scale donations are appreciated. I volunteer my time, and a significant portion of what’s collected is donated to a local charity. In past years, we have supported Second Bloom and the CORA Food Pantry.

Awakening Flow Yoga

Tuesdays 9 – 10:15am @ Pittsboro Yoga

This morning practice weaves together breath, movement, and mindful awareness to gently wake the body and settle the mind. We center attention and awaken our energy with a few minutes of breathwork, followed by an unhurried, breath-led flow that warms and grounds. The practice gradually opens into deeper stretches to release tension and support nervous system ease.

Expect a class that feels gently uplifting and steady—calm, soulful, and quietly strengthening. The pace is meditative and accessible, inviting you to arrive fully in your body and begin the day with clarity and presence. All levels and all bodies are welcome. Options are offered throughout.

Monthly Women’s Circle

Sundays, 4-5:30pm @ Pittsboro Yoga
September 20, October 11, November 22 & December 20

Women have gathered in circles throughout history—to celebrate, grieve, share wisdom, mark life's transitions, and remind one another that none of us walks alone. This circle is a contemporary expression of that enduring tradition.

Our circle is a monthly invitation to slow down, turn inward, and reconnect with ourselves and one another. Through simple ritual, reflective practices, and guided sharing, we create an intentional container for deep presence, tuning in to the rhythms of the natural world and the seasons of our own lives. Together, we make space for whatever is most alive within us.

Whether you come to speak, to listen, or simply to be present, you are warmly welcome exactly as you are.

Open to all who identify as women.

Wise Woman Rising: Yoga, Energy & The Menopause Transition

Sunday, October 25, 3-5pm
Pittsboro Yoga

Our bodies and lives are always changing, and perimenopause and menopause bring that truth into particularly clear focus. Along with physical changes, we may notice shifts in our energy, capacity, priorities, and sense of ourselves. This transition can be an opportunity to meet change with greater awareness and curiosity, while exploring what may be emerging in this new season of life. The Wise Woman archetype offers a different way of understanding this passage: as a movement toward greater discernment, self-trust, and clarity about what matters—and a fuller claiming of the wisdom and authority that come with lived experience.

In this intimate two-hour workshop, we’ll gather in a supportive circle for reflection, sharing, and connection, alongside an embodied exploration of our energetic landscape. We’ll experience a range of accessible practices from the Kriya and Hatha Yoga traditions using breath, gentle movement, and meditation.

There will be space during our time together not only to learn and practice, but to pause, feel, listen, and share what is alive for us in this transition. In the company of other women moving through their own versions of this passage, we’ll explore what it might mean to meet this season with greater attention to ourselves, trust in our own knowing, and curiosity about what is becoming possible.

No previous experience with yoga is needed. All practices will be accessible and mostly seated, with plenty of room to adapt them to your own needs.
